Good morning. I live in the United States and our museum just acquired this violin and I was wondering the type, maker and price for this piece. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your time.
Type of violin? Friedrich August Glass?

Hello Ian,
welcome to the forum! Unfortunately your images aren't uploaded correctly. You have to upload them in the 2nd editor tab "Dateianhänge". Then the images will be added below your text automatically, or you can add a preview of each image to your text by hand if you want to show them in a certain order.

Thank you Little Geiger. I will try to upload them again now. Can you see them?

The violin looks old. It's built of beautiful wood, has a neck graft and an upper saddle made of bone or ivory. The label I can't really read. The first name could be Augustus, then another name and then "Glaß", the date could be 1850. The shape looks right for Klingenthal origin, and according to the corners it looks like the violin was built on back.
I would contact a luthier familiar with Glass violins who can look at the violin in person. If there is no one nearby you could post the instument at the Maestronet forum. Some members there are luthiers and violin appraisers and can possibly help. Many are located in the USA as well and might take a look on the violin in person when they live near you.
